About

As an agriculture economist, consultant and broadacre farmer, Lucy works with farmers, grower groups and community organisations to develop clear pathways and plans to achieve goals by investigating the ‘what if’.

Lucy develops tailored economic models that represent a system to understand the implications of change in that system.

In 2016, Lucy started a project with Merredin and Districts Farm Improvement Group (MADFIG) and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) to investigate flexible farming systems for the Eastern Wheatbelt.

From this, myFARMSMART was created- an online scenario planning tool for farmers to create budgets, analyse and monitor their farm business performance.

Lucy has extensive experience and understanding of farming systems, working with farmers, growers and rural communities. She has a Diploma in Project Management, a Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness (Curtin University) and a Master of Science (UWA).

Lucy has worked as a Rural Financial Counsellor, assisting farmers to understand their financial position and families to work together. Since starting LA.ONE she has researched the value of forage bush in the farming system for Greening Australia, developed a strategic direction for the Walitj Mia Mia Farm and investigated the value of different lime sources for South Coast NRM inc.
